Geert Lovink is a Research Professor of Interactive Media at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA) and a Professor of Media Theory at the European Graduate School. He earned his master’s degree in political science at the University of Amsterdam, holds a PhD from the University of Melbourne and has been a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Queensland. A widely acclaimed net critic and media theorist, Lovink is also the founding director of the Institute of Network Cultures and has authored notable works such as Dark Fiber: Tracking Critical Internet Culture (2002), Uncanny Networks (2002), Zero Comments: Blogging and Critical Internet Culture (2007) and many more.
