Jarreau was widely acknowledged for his ability to sing across the spectrum of pop, soul, gospel and Latin among other genres and won 7 Grammy Awards – getting nominated for even more. From church choir days to Hollywood Walk of Fame honor, Jarreau remains one of truly great vocalists to stem from America. He died this week, at the age of 76.
Assured to put a soothing end to your evening, we present this week’s Band of the Week. Sam Gopal was a British Psychedelic rock group founded in the late 1960s. Among their mostly obscure line-up was the now famous Hard Rock legend Lemmy Kilmister. The band was iconic for its ‘acoustic raga-without-sitar group’ image.
